Beyond Design

While design is my creative language, leadership is the force that drives me forward.

My passion for storytelling and strategy extends beyond visuals, it’s about building communities, creating opportunities, and inspiring change.

Leadership, to me, is more than holding a title it’s about leaving a lasting impact. Whether organizing events, mentoring students, or advocating for important causes, I approach leadership with the same creativity and intention I bring to design.

Leading with Purpose

  • As a proud representative of the College of Visual and Performing Arts, I served as both a VPA Ambassador and Career Ambassador, advocating for student needs and university exposure. I’ve spoken on numerous panels, facilitated group sessions, and led events that represent the values of our university and surrounding community. As a Career Ambassador, I supported students with job searches, career advice, interview prep, and résumé workshops, helping my peers feel confident navigating their professional paths. I’ve actively advocated for student transportation resources and increased visibility for the Communications Design program within the university network.

  • As the Programming Director for AIGA at Syracuse University, I connected students with industry professionals by coordinating, facilitating, and hosting networking events, workshops. I also founded the inaugural Design Crawl which allowed students to visit a multitude of creative industries in the Central New York area. These events bridge the gap between academia and real-world experience.

  • As a proud transfer student, I embrace my community college roots. During my time in student government, I served as Student Government President and led a statewide campaign that provided access to free female hygiene products across all 28 colleges in Florida. This initiative marked a pivotal moment in my advocacy work and demonstrated the power of student-led leadership and social impact.

  • I am currently conducting independent research examining the social and cultural implications of typography, exploring how typographic design shapes sculptural representation and consumer experiences. This work analyzes fonts and packaging widely used in commercial spaces, with a focus on cultural identity and stereotypes in visual language. The research will culminate in a public exhibit as part of my thesis, inviting audiences to consider how type influences perception and cultural narratives.

  • Staying active and fostering community through movement is an important extension of my creative practice. As a Teaching Assistant for Social Dance, I help students step out of their comfort zones, build confidence through body language, and develop dance technique in a supportive environment. This role also allows me to stay connected to my Latin heritage and share cultural expression with others through rhythm and movement.

  • Beyond campus, I’ve dedicated summers to the Syracuse community through the La Casita Cultural Center’s Gardening Club, teaching local youth how to grow their own produce and connect with nature. This experience allowed me to bridge education, creativity, and culture in a meaningful, hands-on way.
